Synopsis
Paulo is an experienced doctor who works at a Primary Healthcare Unit on the outskirts of São Paulo. Using unorthodox methods, he focuses on preventative medicine. His routine changes with the arrival of Laura, a recently graduated and ambitious young woman.
Season 1 (2016) — 8 episodes. A medical drama series about the daily routine of a Primary Healthcare Unit in the outskirts of São Paulo. Dr. Paulo is a very experienced family doctor who has worked in the community for years. His focus is on caring for people, engaging with their stories and seeking unconventional solutions to treat them. His life changes with the arrival of Dr. Laura, a traditional doctor who is temporarily working at the Primary Healthcare Unit and aspires to become a specialist in a private hospital. With such different backgrounds and life goals, Dr. Paulo and Dr. Laura will gradually learn from each other while dealing with the complexities of medical cases.
Season 2 (2020) — 8 episodes. Back at the Primary Healthcare Unit, Dr. Laura will seek a balance between the human and the scientific as she mediates the conflict between the unorthodox Dr. Paulo and the new manager, Cilene, who is primarily interested in productivity. Despite some disagreements, the reunion between the doctors fosters a new relationship that is challenged by an environment where solutions are always multifaceted, but never simple, as in cases of epidemics, abortion, and domestic violence.
Season 3 (2023) — 8 episodes. In this phase, the plot brings Dr. Paulo back to the Cecília Donnangelo Primary Healthcare Unit after a forced leave at the end of the second season. Now, he will need to face the challenges of the pandemic context while dealing with his troubled relationship with Dr. Laura, who is even more immersed in her work.
